Gujarat could not stitch any major partnerships as Haryana bowlers struck consistently. Ultimately, Gujarat could only score 196 before getting bowled out in 45.2 overs. Hemang Patel, batting at no8, was the top scorer for Gujarat with 54. Anuj Thakral and Nishant Sindhu picked three wickets each for Haryana.
Meanwhile, South Korea were knocked out by the defending champions, India, with a 1-4 defeat in the semi-final. In their pool stage encounter, South Korea had previously played to a 2-2 draw against their next opponent, Pakistan.
On the other hand, China have qualified for their maiden Asian Champions Trophy final. Their journey to the summit clash has been a rollercoaster ride. They started with a defeat to India but bounced back with a 4-2 win over Malaysia. The hosts then faced a 2-3 loss to South Korea and were also routed 5-1 by Pakistan in the pool stage.
The small chase seemed to be too easy for Haryana as they reached 173/3 in 34 overs. At that point, they needed just 24 runs to win. However, led by Ravi Bishnoi's charged spell, Gujarat gained some hope. Haryana were reduced to 192/8 with Bishnoi finishing his 10-over spell with figures of 4-46. Ultimately, Anshul Kamboj hit a six of Ajay Jayswal to help Haryana win the game.
Defending champions Haryana will now face Karnataka in the semifinal. Vidarbha will take on Maharashtra in the other final four game.
