“A memorandum dated February 4, 2025, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, states that the President approved the extension of Marbil’s government service beyond the compulsory retirement age of 56,” the PCO said in a statement.

The memorandum was addressed to Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

In a text message to reporters on Tuesday, Pimentel said a Senate probe parallel to the House of Representatives’ Quad Committee is not mandatory, but said that it would be beneficial.

Marcos also earlier said that he was studying the term extension.
